Climate Community Hall in Yorkeys Knob QLD

For the last 8 weeks, CAFNEC volunteers have been on the ground, door knocking in Yorkeys Knob, a suburb that is vulnerable to the increasing impacts associated with climate change. They have been listening and connecting to the community through shared stories, experiences, and values. Now, the community is invited to come together to keep the conversation going at the Yorkeys Knob Climate Community Hall.

We want to help concerned residents in Yorkeys Knob to demonstrate their desire for strong climate action from our decision-makers by making collective and strategic demands that cannot be ignored.

At the Climate Community Hall, we will:

~ Set the scene and present the latest findings on climate impacts to our region
~ Share the climate impacts and related concerns raised by local residents at the door
~ Demonstrate how communities can come together to tackle climate change through case studies
~ Provide an opportunity for the community to create a vision for a safe climate future and identify practical solutions
~ Establish strategic next steps to take real, on-ground, community-led action on climate change.

When: Saturday, 15 October, 10AM – 12PM AEST
Where: Yorkeys Knob Community Centre (58 Wattle Street, Yorkeys Knob)

This is a family friendly event. Invite your neighbours and friends to come along!
