Send a letter – Reject Dredge Spoil Dumping Permit for Abbot Point expansion project

The dumping of dredge spoil anywhere along the coast adjoining the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park (GBRMP) is something that should concern everyone on the planet. This proposal is just one of many dredging proposals along the Great Barrier Reef coastline including the Cairns dredging proposal.

While Minister Greg Hunt has unwisely approved the dredging program for the Abbot Point Expansion project the Marine Park Authority are yet to approve the dumping of dredge spoil within the Marine Park.

We urge you to let the GBRMP Authority know that you do not support the dumping of dredge spoil in or near the Great Barrier Reef and encourage them to reject the permit.

A decision is expected by the 31st January 2014.

The following is a quick and easy way to send an email to the Authority, we encourage you to fill in your name and email and personalise and edit the letter.
