Cairns Annual EcoFiesta 2023
Each year CAFNEC is a stallholder at the Annual Cairns Ecofiesta, hosted by the Cairns Regional Council. Cairns Ecofiesta is a premier sustainability festival – a free-entry event held on the doorstep of two World Heritage areas – the Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforest. Ecofiesta, held in Munro Martin Parklands on June 4th, is a music festival, a food festival, a children’s festival and an environmental expo all rolled into one big smorgasbord of fun.
As a stallholder, CAFNEC has the opportunity to showcase our work, and share our stories of environmental protection and advocacy to the wider community. Over the past few years, CAFNEC has been an Ecofiesta partner giving us a more extensive role, helping out with children’s games, running plastic-free workshops, and being invited to be a keynote speaker. Ecofiesta plays an important role for CAFNEC as it gives us the chance to work closely with a team of volunteers to strengthen our connection with the wider community and other organisations. Ecofiesta is a also a great way for new volunteers to be immersed in CAFNEC’s work, and meet other like-minded people.
CAFNEC is looking for volunteers to join our team, and support the coordination of CAFNEC’s stall at this year’s Ecofiesta. If you are interested come along to our first Ecofiesta Volunteer Meeting of the year to help prepare and organise our stall!
