SUMMARY:Climate Community Hall – Clifton Beach
DESCRIPTION:Now, more than ever before, our community and our region can lead the way on climate action!\n\nFor the next two months CAFNEC volunteers will be door knocking in Clifton Beach, a suburb that is vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. We will be listening to you, the residents – sharing our stories, our values and connecting with you through our FNQ way of life.\n\nWith the uptake of more than 100 #climateactionnow ( https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/climateactionnow?__eep__=6&__cft__[0]=AZVsjU6XwFTKhSIQqOmFidoAVAchy0RcCgaXCWQWAxvPtV_8cPvwLJclY0tIkoADKE4D2hgH76tP3HKHS3krzEEHKQfp3NOLdfQeSiM3Ab4mptydDT2ihJ0VmfT-HoPy1nA&__tn__=q ) signs across Cairns, we want to work with Clifton Beach to create a visible demand for climate action. Together, we will shift the politics on climate change by making collective and strategic demands that cannot be ignored.\nAt the end of our door knocking in Clifton Beach, CAFNEC is hosting a community workshop for you.\n\nIn our workshop:\n– We will set the scene, and present the climate facts\n– Provide a case study on ways that communities are tackling climate change\n– Share with you the concerns that local residents have brought up at the door\n– Provide an opportunity for you to create a climate safe vision for your local area\n– Establish strategic next steps for you to take real, on-ground action on climate change\nWhen: Saturday 11 December, 10:00am to 12:00pm\nWhere: Kewarra Beach Community Hall 41 Poolwood Rd, Kewarra Beach QLD 4879\nThis is a family friendly event. Ask your neighbours and friends to come along!\n\n
